Our Story
Why We Created Lorna Marie's Home
In loving memory of Lorna Marie
Lorna Marie's Home is a project of love, created in honor of the beautiful memory and enduring legacy of our mother, Lorna Marie.
Lorna was a woman whose love knew no bounds. Even while raising five children of her own, she always seemed to find room for one more. Her home was a place where children could find a warm bed, a warm meal, an open door, and, most importantly, the warmth and security of knowing they were cared for.
She believed in helping others not simply through words, but through action. If someone needed a meal, a place to stay, clothing, encouragement, or simply someone to care, Lorna opened her heart and often her home.
After her passing, we wanted to find a meaningful way to carry that spirit forward. Lorna Marie's Home was born from our desire to extend the same love, compassion, and sense of security she gave so freely to others.
Today, our goal is to support children and families experiencing hardship by helping meet essential needs—from clothing and food to seasonal and emergency assistance—while treating every person we serve with dignity and compassion.
We may not be able to recreate our mother's home, but through Lorna Marie's Home, we can continue what she started: creating a place of hope, extending a hand when it is needed, and reminding children and families that they are not alone.
Her home had room for more. Her love had room for more. And through Lorna's Home, her legacy will too.
